our department thought our internal teams would handle this sort of thing - but after our discovery call, the penny dropped as to why we don't....

..I didn't think it was going to work for our brand, as I couldn't see a Japanese commercial anywhere - once it was explained that each commercial is created to our target customer, it all made sense.

This campaign was created for The Barnyard with one clear objective: drive wedding bookings by replacing generic venue visuals with a story people would feel, remember, and emotionally attach themselves to.

The film opens quietly, following a couple sharing a meal at the venue while browsing a wedding brochure. As the woman closes her eyes, the narrative flashes forward through her future, all set within different spaces across the Barnyard estate. A wedding day reveal. A marquee speech. A baby shower. A family meal with a pram beside the table. A later-life celebration in another part of the venue.

Each moment is matched seamlessly through cinematic transitions, reinforcing the idea that this single place can host a lifetime of milestones. The story then collapses back to the present moment, where a tear runs down her face as she smiles and realises she’s found “the one” — not just the partner, but the venue itself.

Shot in a single day with a focused cast and crew, the project was handled end-to-end by CommercialsGroup, from concept through post-production. The shift from traditional drone footage and photography to emotionally led storytelling transformed how the venue was perceived almost immediately.

Within the first month alone, the commercial generated over £100,000 in wedding bookings before paid ads were even introduced. It has since become the venue’s most referenced and reused asset during quieter booking periods, repeatedly described by viewers as a “goosebumps” or “tear-jerker” piece that stays with them long after watching.

The place to say ‘I do’ - not just once, but for a lifetime.
